An Atlanta native, Dr. Howell received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Emory University. He completed both his general surgery and plastic surgery residencies at the University of Tennessee. His hand fellowship was completed at The Barnes Hospital and the Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Howell is Board Certified in both Plastic Surgery and General Surgery and he holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Emory University and is a past Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee for the State Board of Workers’ Compensation. He continues to serve on the committee. A member of the American Society of Surgery of the Hand, his specialty includes microvascular surgery of the upper extremity.
